Always wondered how Ravi feels while saying it on air everytime the first wicket falls.
Now
I'm writing this with a lot of pain........ or is it in a lot of pain?
Ok, whatever it is, there's pain involved. Not because India lost(I know this series is gonna be rough for the blues), but because I banged my hand against a machine while practicing my bowling action..... in office...... at 4 am in the morning.
Alright, now that the customary nonsense is done, back to cricket.
Harbhajan and PK almost took India to over the line, but that doesn't mean that the match was as close as the 4 run difference suggests.
A few things that I've observed.
a) India's fielding is well, er... hard to put in words. The diving over the ball is getting increasingly difficult to laugh at.
b) While we still have belief in Dhoni's captaincy, what gets past us is the logic behind Kohli's promotion in front of Dhoni.
c) Ravindra Jadeja is alright, but not the amazing talent that Laxman Sivaramkrishnan thinks he is.
d) Why is everyone sucking up to Ashish Nehra so much? I'm gonna throw up soon.
e) The Delhi boys should open.
f) What does Praveen Kumar have to do to get someone to catch an edge off his bowling?
g) Ishant seems to have understood that short and wide is not the way to go during the slog overs.
h) Is Tim Paine really the third choice wicketkeeper batsman after Haddin and Manou?
i)Regardless of how unhygienic he is with all that spitting on the hands and being a pain in general and the fact that he is almost 35, Ricky is still a sharp fielder in the ring or elsewhere. Do I have to say that he is right up there in the all time best batsmen list?
j) Watson should really stop looking so surprised/aghast/disappointed after bowling shit full tosses.
k) Wasn't Hussey supposed to be leaving straight ones and looking like he couldn't even hit a beach ball?

pRAFS,
I hate to agree with you on the Ponting thinggy. He is so irritating, but yeah what a good batsman.
p.s. good to see you blogging again.
Best post I've seen on the first ODI so far! I agree with all of the points... except Kohli's promotion ahead of Dhoni because he's just about useless under Dhoni - who really should be in the team as a power hitter or has he really lost that ability? Kohli shouldn't be in the team, neither should Jadeja, I don't know what the selectors are smoking but I'd like some. Tendulkar at 4 solves the Dhoni promotion, but will Sachin ever want to play an ODI again if he can't open?
lol @ d! And whatever happened to Luke Ronchi? Very aggressive batsman. I am struggling to dislike Ponting myself.
Thanks Leela,
with the job that i have, i'll keep on disappearing now and then
I really hate ponting as a bloke,
but as a cricketer, he's one of the most pleasing to watch.
His fielding is still the best. Hands down.
Thanks Ach,
really flattered.
I don't really have a doubt about Kohli's talent.
Followed him since his u 19 days, and the kid's got talent. But the issue is temperament and experience at the highest level.
Maybe, the kid got thrown into the deep end.
But it is also true that you gotta learn the ropes quickly.there's quite a number of guys waiting for a chance
Luke Ronchi has had an average domestic season in Aus.
Plus Hauritz, Lee, Watson and Paine could make a proper boy band.
Ronchi wont fit in, but then, so won't siddle
Punter is still very sharp in the field. But not as good as he once was. He used to be supersonic.
Paine is somehow chalked down to be dumped when Badhands recovers. It makes me want to spew, but I know it will happen. Haddin is the worst keeper in international cricket, he is worse than Kamran Akmal.
What's up with Bhaji's bowling? He looked like crap in the CT as well.
Lula,
i'd still put punter on par with the best fielder's in the world.
The catching is still as sharp and he still hits the stumps more than anyone else does.
As bad as Haddin is, i think oz are still trying to replace gilly with an explosive keeper batsman.the batting looks to have priority over the keeping
bhajji needs to rethink is strategy. the leg stump line isn't all that bright.
he's been that way since some time now. Case for pragyan ojha to come in.
Don't worry mate....we'll strike back......and as for punter.....I dont know many who like him.
hopefully chris, hopefully
but on the current bowling form... things can be difficult.
I am talking about ricky as a batsman and fielder.
Unless we pull our socks fast, we would eb donating blood like this and would look pale at the end of the bloody series.
Som,
What's frustrating is that the same damn problems are left unattended.
It's been a year of unstable batting orders and inept bowling plans.
Can't see the efforts towards making amends
